A Novel 5-Level DWT Based Method for Digital Video Watermarking

Sustaining copyright protection in multimedia contents like text, images, audio and video become a challenging issue in today’s environment. Digital watermarking enables us to hide secret information within the original contents itself. In this paper, the concern is with video contents in which watermarking have become a necessity due to piracy, copying etc. The main focus in this paper is on perceptual visibility and robustness of watermarking process. The main idea is to utilize the advantages of Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) for embedding the watermark signals. The watermark signal generated from Pseudo-random Noise (PN) sequence as well as a secret image embedded using 5-Level of DWT to increase capacity while maintain robustness and quality of the original video. Also whole embedding and extraction process can be invoked using a secret key that is decided at the time of embedding stage. The proposed method is more robust against noise attacks such as Gaussian noise and Salt & Pepper noise, the frame dropping while reducing the computation time. The simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. For quantitative analysis the parameters used are Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and computational time in embedding and extraction process.
